We are a non-governmental, non-profit organization that develops prevention programs for children and adolescents from 4 to 17 years old who are at high risk of getting lost in the streets (gangs, violence, vices, drugs, etc). We operate in zone 18 of Guatemala City.<\/p>\n

The moment we identified the crude reality in which children from marginalized areas of the country live, we decided not to cross our arms and do something proactive for this generation. That is how Go Guatemala began.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At the beginning of 2009, the M\u00e9ndez Francia family was going through a severe security crisis, and in their desperation, they wanted to leave the country. But one day, asking God for wisdom, they received the divine revelation that they should raise a generation of different children and do a work of love for the children living in the red zones of our country.<\/p>\n

In their hearts, the desire was born that the crisis they experienced should not happen to anyone else, which is why they decided to start the work of prevention with children and adolescents.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Pastors Alex and Evelyn M\u00e9ndez are the founders of Go Guatemala. They have been working with children for 32 years. When they were teenagers, God delivered them from a life of perdition and since then they serve the Lord with all their hearts.<\/p>\n

As a family they accepted God\u2019s call for the children of Zone 18, thus founding Go Guatemala on May 2, 2009. The first day they opened their doors, they served 16 children, and today at the end of 2023, they have 120 children enrolled. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The first members of our volunteer team were friends and family of Pastors Alex and Evelyn, with whom they found an echo to start with. Within a few weeks, more people joined the challenge to love children and work altruistically.<\/p>\n

As the years have passed, the same children who have grown up, who are now teenagers, collaborate in the development of our activities.
